Collection: Passion Peeps- Redefining The Lover's Eye

Check back often. I source for treasures on a regular basis.

Lover’s Eyes were all the rage between 1785 and 1830, tiny watercolor portraits painted on ivory and set into jewelry like brooches. These cropped portraits focused solely on the eye, making them bold, intimate, and unmistakably personal. Their beauty was in the mystery—they hinted at a secret love without revealing the lover’s identity, a daring way to flaunt a hidden affair in plain sight. Yet, as with so much history, the big, brown, beautiful eyes of people of color—eyes full of depth, strength, and untold stories—were overlooked or excluded entirely.

My Passion Peeps are set into vintage saucers and dishes, turning these pieces into beautifully unexpected frames. The china adds another layer to the story, blending history with romance while centering eyes that demand to be seen. Each piece is one of a kind—some feel dreamy and romantic, others carry a touch of the exotic or even the surreal. Together, they celebrate the beauty, complexity, and mystery that were too often ignored in the past, reclaiming a place in this timeless tradition.

These brown eye treasures honor the depth, strength, and beauty of women often overlooked. My designs reclaim space for their stories, creating art that inspires and protects. These plates spark conversation and celebrate identity, making them perfect for display or as a meaningful gift.
